I’m not one of those crazy moms that has tons of time to do everything by hand. However I’ve learned that making homemade baby food is really pretty easy, keeps well and tastes great.
It also gets children used to the actual taste of the fruits and veggies. With our daughter (our first child) we just mashed up whatever we were eating. She is an awesome eater…and even likes stuff I don’t!!!
With our son who is eager to start eating, we are doing the same. Last night I cooked up some carrots!
Super easy –
- Cut up some carrots
- Fill pot with enough water to cover carrots
- Boil until nice and soft.
- Remove from stove and mash with potato masher or blend in food processor (faster)
Magically I made exactly enough for my daughter to have a few slices (before they were mashed), my son to have his portion and then filled 2 small jars!!
Voila! Done! Freshly made baby food!
